Liquid Orals

SYRUPS

SYRUPS

Syrups are a type of oral liquid dosage form commonly used in pharmaceutical formulations. They are concentrated, viscous aqueous preparations of sugar or a sugar substitute, with or without flavoring agents and medicinal substances. Their high sugar concentration provides sweetness, viscosity, and acts as a preservative.

SUSPENSIONS

SUSPENSIONS

Suspensions are a type of liquid oral dosage form. Unlike solutions, where the active drug is completely dissolved in a liquid, suspensions are heterogeneous (biphasic) mixtures. They consist of finely divided solid drug particles (the dispersed phase) that are suspended or dispersed throughout a liquid or semi-solid vehicle (the continuous phase).
